24 Hour Aegon Hackathon

My AWS Alexa team included architecture developers, a UI designer, a customer representative, and a marketing writer.

After coordinating Earth Day hackathon work, I helped bring the model inside the company. I joined the committee that coordinated a global 24-hour hackathon across regions - connecting teams in the US, South America, and Europe so ideas could move quickly from concept to prototype.

I also led one of the participating teams: the AWS Alexa and IoT concept team. The work required tight coordination across roles and time zones, clear decisions, and rapid iteration under a 24-hour deadline.

In that window, the team developed an Alexa skill concept to shorten the retirement onboarding journey from roughly 30 minutes online to about 3 minutes by using voice recognition for authentication. The flow was designed to match a user's voice to existing customer records (based on call center voice-of-identity on file) and pre-fill required onboarding information through a guided voice conversation.

For users without voice-of-identity on record, the concept added a fallback: answer a small set of verification questions, then receive an SMS code to confirm identity and complete onboarding in about 4 minutes.
